Selecting an automatic snus packing machine should begin with the product and production requirement rather than a machine headline. A good specification makes comparison between equipment suppliers much easier.
1. Define the pouch
Record pouch width, length, target fill weight, filter material and seal requirements. These parameters determine much of the machine configuration.
2. Define the target output
State the required sustained pouches per minute and expected operating hours. If several SKUs will be produced, include the expected changeover frequency.
3. Select the dosing technology
The dosing system must suit the product’s density, moisture and flow behaviour. Testing with production material is preferable to relying only on theoretical specifications.
4. Evaluate sealing
Compare heat and ultrasonic sealing according to the selected material and required seal performance.
5. Design the complete line
Consider pouch counting, can filling, closing, labelling, checkweighing, metal detection and secondary packing. A complete line should be balanced around the required production output.
